Frequently Asked Questions
How much do a pair of custom orthotics cost?
$300/pair Shipping is additional for mail order process.
How long do custom orthotics last?
Custom orthotics will last you about 2-3 years, sometimes longer; however, lightweight orthotics should be replaced every year.
How long does it take to get a pair of orthotics made?
Depending on your schedule, we can have your orthotics made within a day or two. We offer same day service at a different location. Call for details. Mail order kits take about a week to 1.5 weeks to turn around due to the multiple shipments involved.
How do I fit my orthotics in my shoes?
Check out our "Fitting Your Custom Orthotics" page for this information.

Can you adjust Active Imprints custom orthotics?
Yes. Since we custom make each pair, your orthotics are easy to adjust. We recommend wearing a new pair for at least a week. If we need to adjust for pressure points, comfort or support this can be done at any time. Your new orthotics should be comfortable. We will work with you to create the best, most comfortable fit possible.
Can I wear my insoles in shoes other than my running/walking/work out shoes?
If you have a pair of our All Sport orthotics, yes.The Allsport insole is designed to be moved from shoe to shoe so you can wear them most of the time in a variety of shoes. They are not designed to fit in women's dress shoes but will fit in some models of men's dress shoes. We offer a full-length orthotic that will replace any existing sock liner that comes in your shoes. We also offer a 3/4 length orthotic which works well in shoes that fit tighter or do not have a removable liner.
Cycling insoles should only be worn in cycling shoes. They are designed to replace the stock liner that comes with the shoe. The cycling orthotics are very thin and designed to fit exactly in the cycling shoe model.
Can I wash my orthotics?
We recommend using a damp cloth to wipe off any dirt that may be built up on your orthotic and let them airdry. DO NOT PUT THEM NEAR A HEATER.
Can I keep my insoles in my car?
No. Heat exposure will warp your orthotics and cause them to warp. Orthotics cannot be remolded or repaired if this happens.

Does my insurance cover my orthotics?
Some insurance companies will cover custom orthotics; however, Active Imprints does not deal with insurance companies directly. You will need to call your insurance company and find out if they are covered and how they will reimburse you directly.
Do I need a doctor's referral in order to place an order?
You can bring in/send in an doctor's referral, but it is not necessary. Our staff can create a custom orthotic for you based on your biomechanics, foot structure and current injuries or problems.
